Why We Invested in Minerva

Minerva is launching today: a new AI platform, a new brand, $20 million in new funding, and a collaboration with OpenAI and the NBA. Congratulations to Jackson, Dan, MJ, and everyone who built it.

What Minerva Does

Minerva is an AI platform for marketing leaders. Enterprise marketing teams usually carry two kinds of data that never line up: their own customer records, and a pile of third-party signals. Minerva brings them together. Its consumer dataset reaches back to 2010 and covers 270 million records and more than 1,000 attributes, refreshed daily, and it combines that with each customer's own data to build audience segments specific enough to use.

From there it takes on the parts of the job that usually eat a team's week. It watches the funnel and flags where performance is dropping, drafts campaigns that marketers can edit or ship, and keeps measurement running without anyone babysitting it. Wander, Luxury Presence, Honey Homes, the Miami Dolphins, and now the NBA all use it.

Why We Believe in It

Marketing is one of the clearest places for AI to take on real operational work, and most products in the category are still a thin layer over an ad platform. Minerva went after a harder version of the problem and built the data and the agents that run on top of it. That takes longer and is far harder for anyone else to copy, which is exactly why we wanted to back it.

The results have followed: real enterprise customers, strong retention, and a data advantage that's tough to reproduce. We first invested in October 2023 and added to our position in August 2024, and the case has only grown stronger since.

The Team

A lot of that comes down to the team. Jackson, Dan, and MJ are some of the most technically capable founders we've worked with, and they understand the marketing problem as well as anyone building in the space. They've shipped relentlessly since we met them in 2023.

Pulling off a platform launch, a rebrand, a raise, and an OpenAI and NBA collaboration all at once takes a team operating at a different level, and this one consistently does.
